Musick Hack

Inspired from Google's initiative "Music Hack Paris" we decided to dive into music. We have constructed and remixed a few of our old sculptures in order to create a musical instrument activated by the water propulsed by a pedal-activated peristaltic pump. The music is generated by various instruments: an electric guitar mechanically activated at every stroke of pedals, the noise of the bike amplified through the peristaltic pump, the splashing of water on drums, the squeezing of several pieces of metal jumping into each others, and the resonnance of water in the metal vase.
The sound was subsequentely modified in real time by a computer so as to create an harmonique ensemble.
